About Us

Mission Statement
The mission of Pet-Tao is simple: to formulate, develop, and offer the highest quality pet foods and nutritional supplements available in the Western world today allowing pets to live longer, healthier lives. This longevity will strengthen the human-animal bond. Our education, dietary innovation, credibility, and ultimately, the performance of our products, strongly support our mission.
Why We Are Different
-
Integrated Diet
The integrated diet is a new, innovative theory regarding animal nutrition. In simplest terms, the diet combines the science of Western nutrition with the time-proven theories of Eastern Food Therapy.
-
Integrated Prescription Diet
We offer prescription diets for Eastern medical imbalances. These diets require a prescription from your veterinarian.
-
Developed By Vets
The Pet-Tao diets were formulated by two veterinarians with years of practical clinical experience who have seen, dealt with, and treated the effects of animal nutrition.
-
Quality Products and Processing
All the raw materials of the Pet-Tao diets are procured through human food outlets. We do not use animal or grain by products. Lastly, the processing and cooking methods we use are monitored by veterinarians who are educated in food safety and food hygiene.
-
We Work With Your Vet
Under special circumstances, we will work in conjunction with your veterinarian to answer any nutritional questions or concerns.
-
Seasonal Approach
For a completely holistic approach to feeding your pet, we offer diets balanced according to the season of the year.
-
We offer Raw, Pasteurized and Canned forms of each diet
Every pet does not do well on every diet. Therefore, we offer a variety of forms to achieve the best for you and your pet.
Our Background
After a decade in private practice, we have each encountered numerous clinical cases that do not respond to the typical treatments used in traditional veterinary medicine. We wanted to provide more for our patients, not only in our treatment options, but also in the form of prevention strategies; however, at the time, we had no other options to offer. After completing our training in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, other options for treatment became available. Within those other treatments, food played an integral role in our choice of therapies. From our experiences, we concluded that fresh food based on sound Eastern principles is the foundation for a long, happy, and healthy life. In our practices today, many of our clients would prefer to incorporate the Eastern principles of Food Therapy; however, procuring the ingredients, cooking the food, storing the end product, and determining nutritional quality makes this very challenging. In response, we formed Pet-Tao to offer a convenient yet superior nutritional product that provides the way to better health.
Our Vision
As we grow, our goal is to provide more unique, innovative products that further support our mission statement. We hope to do this in the most environmentally friendly way by endorsing sustainable agricultural practices and using recyclable and biodegradable products. In the near future, our plans are to own, operate, and manage our own farms so that we can provide fresh organic meats and vegetables. Animal welfare and environmental awareness will always be guiding principles in our future growth.
