Safe Handling Instructions for Raw Diets
- Keep raw foods frozen until ready to use.
- Defrost raw foods in the refrigerator; allow food 24 hours to completely defrost.
- Immediately place any unused raw portion into the refrigerator.
- If your pet does not consume all the food presented within 30 minutes, discard any leftovers.
- Raw foods will maintain freshness for up to 5 days under refrigeration.
- Keep raw meats and poultry separate from other foods.
- Keep raw meats and poultry away from children.
- Use hot, soapy water to wash all work surfaces, utensils, food bowls and hands after handling raw meats and poultry.
- We recommend feeding raw foods in stainless steel bowls. Other materials are porous and can trap germs over time.
